Barbara Mowry, President and CEO
Barbara Mowry joined Silver Creek Systems as President and CEO in 2003. She is an experienced executive, having served as an officer in two Fortune 500 companies, and as an intrapreneur and entrepreneur. She has led companies through rapid growth, bought and sold companies, and guided international expansion. Spearheading the launch of new products, patented technology and developing innovative solutions that focus on customer and business success has kept her at the forefront of the technology industry.
Prior to Silver Creek Systems she served as Chairman and CEO at Requisite Technology, Sr. VP Customer Satisfaction and ran the new products division of Comcast (TCI), the founder and CEO of the Mowry Company, and as an officer of United Airlines.
She serves on the Board of Directors of Gaiam (NASDAQ-GAIA), the Economic Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Board of Kansas City, served as a judge at the Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2005 and is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota.
Barbara has a bachelor's degree from Miami University, Oxford Ohio, and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
Amanda Reed, Partner, Palomar Ventures
Amanda joined Palomar Ventures in 2001 after a 15-year career of leadership in sales, marketing, and business development in a series of successful start-up companies. With the operating experience of two IPOs and two company acquisitions in excess of $100M, Amanda brings extensive early-stage operations talent and insight to her work with emerging technology companies.
Palomar Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund currently investing more than $500M in information technology companies. Palomar has offices in Irvine, Palo Alto, and Santa Monica, California and is active throughout California and the western United States.
Amanda holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Dartmouth College.
David Wall, Managing Director, The BV Group
David J. Wall is a Managing Director of The BV Group, an international investment firm headquartered in Washington D.C. He is the head of the BV's asset management and multi-manager hedge funds activities. Since joining the firm in 1996, David has been instrumental in the development of BV's private equity, real estate and hedge fund activities. He also manages a number of strategic joint-venture relationships on behalf of the firm.
Prior to becoming the head of the asset management and multi-manager hedge funds activities in 2003, David was a Managing Director in BV's private equity group, responsible for the due diligence, structuring and monitoring of both direct and fund private equity investments. He also served in various operating roles in a number of BV's portfolio companies.
David is also a Director of the McLean Market Neutral Fund Limited, the McLean Alternative Enhanced Fund Limited and a member of the Investment Committee of BV Global Partners Limited.
David holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Boston University School of Management.
James Pollard, Board Member
James Pollard is a veteran senior executive with a distinguished career managing worldwide operations and technology at several Fortune 1000 companies.
At Gateway Inc, James served as senior Vice President and CIO, responsible for managing Gateway’s Information Technology on a global basis. In this position, he was recognized by CIO magazine as a “Top 100 CIO.” Prior to Gateway, he served as Executive Vice President, Operations and CIO at Tech Data Corporation, responsible for worldwide logistics, distribution, information technology and electronic business.
In addition, he has had considerable experience very large organizations such as Florida Power Corporation, where he served as CIO as well as an Executive and Board Member for several operational subsidiaries, and at Southern California Gas Company as a Senior Vice President with responsibility for customer services, operations and information systems.
James holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Utah and an executive MBA from the University of South Florida.
Robert Garber, Managing Director, KB Partners
Robert Garber is a Managing Director of KB Partners, which he joined in 1997. Robert focuses on investments in software, hardware, Internet infrastructure, and communications. Robert has more than 13 years of management experience growing and investing in technology companies and is well-versed in the challenges that early stage companies face on their way to commercial success.
KB Partners is a leading Chicago-based venture capital firm focused on investments in early-stage technology companies in the Midwest. Founded in 1996, KB Partners manages venture funds that target opportunities in the hardware, software, communications and medical industries.
Robert has an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, at Northwestern University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
